Hal-Con, the big sci-fi convention, is taking place this weekend, November 8th through 10th, at the World Trade & Convention Centre in downtown Halifax. (That’s the building connected to the metro centre.) You can enter through the doors on Argyle Street, right across from the Grand Parade / City Hall.

This year, they’ve added something new – the first floor is FREE! No ticket necessary! This means you can check out the vendors area and likely you’ll see a lot of people in amazing costumes. More info can be found at the Hal-Con website. You can see a list of the exhibitors on the first floor here.

Strange Adventures will be there with lots of great deals on toys and apparel; and we’ll have some other cool stuff, too. We’ll also be giving over part of our booth to some of the cartoonists attending so they can sign more comics and meet more folks at the show! More info on this as we confirm times.

We’ll be located at booth B-8 seen on the map below as the little Strange Adventures Bat-symbol:

Tickets are required for the second and third levels of the convention where all the panels, celebrity guests, and gaming tournaments will be held. There’s a lot of stuff going on, so try to plan your days in advance so you don’t miss out on any of the cool stuff. Tickets are available at the Hal-Con website and at various locations around the maritimes, including Strange Adventures – Halifax. Advance tickets will be on sale until Wednesday evening or Thursday morning; after that there MAY be tickets at the door, but there’s no way to say for sure.

The Halifax store will be having various sale specials during Hal-Con as well, so tune in to our twitter feed and Facebook pages to keep up to speed!

and here’s a map showing where the two Strange Adventures stores are in relation to the Hal-Con venue and it also shows the D-ART Gallery, where the Has-Bros art show will be taking place!
