well, the big news (for me, mostly) is that the bug’s engine died last week. Only 10 years old, always dealer-maintained and the dudes at the dealership tell me that they can replace the engine but with labour etc. it will cost thousands and the car is probably not worth it. Wow, thanks. So why did you charge me $600 for new brakes the week before?
I am so ticked off with them. For more than 5 years, I’ve had oil and engine light warnings that they told me were shorts in the system, nothing to worry about; and now I have no car. VW Canada says tough luck, but they are willing to pony up two thousand dollars (which got me excited) towards the purchase of a new car (which left me deflated). That’s great, I told them, but where is the other 20 thousand or so supposed to come from? These are difficult times for everyone and I’ve been trying to cut costs rather than lay people off and then this happens. Absolutely wonderful.
Having a carpenter guy named Ken Winters take $3000 for new shelving and promptly disappear was the worst thing that happened in 2010. VW, you’re already the winner for 2011.
If anyone works at a car dealership and would like a small business to drive one of their vehicles all over the city with comic book decals and the dealership’s name; contact me!
